3. Download Terminal Emulator for Android from PlayStore - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm&hl=en

4. Open the Terminal app in your mobile , enter the command " su " ( without quotes ) . Allow Root Access in your mobile.

5. Now run the command - " sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh " ( without quotes )

I used Kingo Root to root my xperia Z1 but failed!

I tried this tutorial and.... WOW! It works like a charm on my Sony Xperia Z1 C6903 Android Lollipop 5.0.2 Build 14.5.A.0.270.

KingRoot is so fast and it works perfectly on my Z1.

Thank you very much Mr. Waledac Oxana for sharing your knowledge with us.

Regards from the Philippines. God Bless You.

Also worked on my z1-compact with Lollipop! After that, installed XZDualRecovery using ADB and flashed my own prepared pre-rooted ROM with the latest 5.1 update :-)

I tried this but when SU starts it said, There is no SU binary installed and superSU cannot install it. This is a problem! if you just upgraded to andriod 5.0, you need to manually re-root -consult the relevant forums for your device.
Device I have is Xperia Z1, with Andriod 5.1.1
