first of all, i'm a noob :'D
If I take a backup of the stock rom before installing a custom rom using duel recovery (cwm or phil wiz) , will I be able to restore the backup after flashing custom rom?
My question is will I loose the duel recovery after flashing custom rom?

I have a few question’s hope you can help me.

I was wondering if I could follow your tutorial using a Z1 compact in combination with
Z1C-lockeddualrecovery2.8.2-RELEASE.installer.zip from NUT his webpage? (http://nut.xperia-files.com/)

I didn’t have CWM or TWRP installed on the phone when I did this but I have root and unlocked bootloader and build 14.4.a.0.157:

I was trying to install CM12nightly with this WIKI http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_amami

I can not perform step 6 because there was no backup and restore option available.
Also step 8 is not working because there is no install zip option available.
Is this because I didn’t have CWM or TWRP installed?

I had to flash (with flashtool) a .tft file from the internet to recover my Z1c because
I flashed the boot.img of a CM12 nightly build over the original boot
so the original firmware was not booting anymore (grey screen), I could only enter Cyanogenmod Recovery. So the phone was not usable anymore.

Any idea how to recover from a fastboot flash boot boot.img because I think that if there is a boot.img for the original stock firmware and I flash that also with fastboot than the original firmware will work again and I don’t have to use the flashtool to restore everything.

You need to unlock your bootloader to install custom ROMs like CM 12
